Ace Ventura Cat Alias Buddy Guy, my favorite black kitty is gone. Bone cancer is suspected. He was a great cat, the kind you wish all cats were like. But I've never met two cats that had the same personality. I guess what I mean is that he was a great cat and not a cat you regretted taking into your home.
My heart is very sad.
Flipper Adams is walking around looking for him. It's interesting to see how another cat reacts to loss. They were good friends. They were more like father and son but hell, they were cats for God's sake. They were good friends. Buddy taught him to fight. He taught him to cross the street as well. We live on a state highway, so this is an especially good skill for a cat to have.
Anyway, there are lots of good memories that we'll cherish for many years. Buddy was a side winder. I suppose I should let you know that a side-winder is the cat that stays one foot ahead of you and controls your gate, or winds his behind around your legs while you are trying to walk. He was great at it! He was such a strong cat that he could take your sudden tumble type save. That's when you get tripped and catch yourself before you go crashing to the ground. You hit the cat somewhere in that process, and you know you'll have to check to make sure he's alright, as soon as you recover. Buddy was always unshaken. He acted like it never happened. That only makes you madder about being tripped. He was a sweetheart.
You know he was just a cat but cats have such a great affect on us. They are there when needed. They are there when you would rather be alone. But they are so cute that you have to let them curl up with you. They sing too. Buddy was a member of the kitty opera. He was a tenor soloist I am sure. The kitty opera is where kitty's go when they go outside. They all get together and sing. They might even have kitty beer and kitty lemonade. I know Buddy was a soloist and a crowd pleaser as well. He sang at home and was always there to comfort you.
I told my son that God only allows us temporary custody of his creatures. I thought that to soothe his hurt. Then I thought that it was a good explanation for me as well. Well it's a good explanation but it's not very comforting right now. Right now, it just hurts. We had that cat a long time. That's another story that I'm sure will be written. Well good night.
