Goals are great. Writing down goals yeilds further commitment to them. Reviewing goals daily helps to gain a sense of direction so you can stay on track. This blog may be more useful for me in that respect but it is always nice to share experiences. Experience is key to the learning process. Referring back to my blog entries enables me to remember and keep my eye on my GOALS.
The other day there was an article in the newspaper about Mac Worthington. He is an artist. He is a sculptor. He lives relatively nearby and his yard is full of his work! It is excellent and shiney! The collection is a beautiful display of his art. The interview with him revealed that he spends fifty percent of his time on his artwork and fifty percent of his time on marketing. Wow, fifty percent?
With this in mind, I can establish a goal to achieve in twenty-seven months. I will work up to the marketing part as time goes along because I know I need some work in this area. I need lots of work in the marketing area. Marketing is selling and networking and letting others know about what you have to offer. I know what I have because I make beaded jewelry. I hadn't thought of how to sell it when I started making it, although I knew I needed to sell it in order to order more beads. I love beads. I can't have beads unless I recycle the money that I make selling what I make out of the beads that I already have. So added to my other goals is to learn about marketing enough to get the beads sold so I can buy MORE BEADS!
